Macau is just a short ferry ride away from Hong Kong but it is a world away!  Elegant Portuguese architecture dots the city and makes up most of the city center accented with signs in both Chinese and Portuguese.  The pace is much slower here compared to Hong Kong; narrow, winding streets that all miraculously seem to be uphill.  There are very few tourist here and the locals are extremely friendly and laid back.

Our one dinner there had to be our favorite.  We made a friend at a local sweet shop who pointed us in the direction of all the little food stalls where the locals eat.  The worker there was so amazingly kind and so excited we chose her shop to eat.  We ordered our food which is cooked in clay pots over a very hot fire.  She was extremely attentive, poured more soy sauce on our bowls and when she saw that Bobby had finished his food she scooped some of mine out so we could share.  I threw out some of my minimal Mandarin which just thrilled her.  It was such a great dining experience; the food was absolutely amazing, friendly staff and to top it all off for our food and drinks it was only about $4 USD!
